Spend some time this Easter doing your own craft projects to decorate your home. All these craft ideas are easy enough for children to help with too, so you have the perfect rainy day activity this Easter. Almost all of these Easter craft projects are also low cost or no cost using supplies you might have in your house already.
Paper daffodil door wreath
This simple and chic Easter wreath is easy to make at home. All you need is some white and yellow paper, some cotton buds and yellow dye.
To create the white petals you need to start with a square of white paper, fold diagonally to make a triangle then fold diagonally again to make a smaller triangle. Cut off the top edge in a semi-circle to make a flower. The yellow paper is rolled to make a cone for each of the flowers.
Stick together all the pieces of your flower to make a spring daffodil. You can either make them into a wreath like below or string them together to make a garland.

Fabric rag bunny wreath
This fabric bunny wreath is really easy to make and is perfect for using up fabric scraps. You just need to cut out loads of strips of fabric in different colours- no need to worry about finished edges as the messy frayed look is part of the charm.
Once you have a big pile of fabric strips, make your bunny wreath shape using either two different sized plain round wreaths and wire to shape into ears or make the full shape from the wire. Then tie the fabric strips around the wreath shape.

Colourful paper punch eggs
These bright and colourful eggs are so effective but also really simple to craft. All you need to do is paint either hard-boiled or blown eggs with bright colours. Punch out some spring shapes in contrasting colours and then stick them onto the eggs once they’ve dried.

Gold egg vases
You can make eggs into cute little vases for small spring flowers such as snowdrops or narcissus. Blow the eggs, leave some whole and remove the tops from others to make them into vases. Spray them gold and if you want, paint the inside black as a contrast. These make a cute little table or windowsill display in an egg box.

Tattoo eggs
Another cute way to decorate eggs is by using temporary tattoos. These ones have a lovely Easter theme, but you can use any tattoos your children want. Again, make sure your eggs are either hard-boiled or blown so that they will last a bit longer.

Salt dough egg decorations
Salt dough is a really popular craft medium especially for kids as it’s easy and cheap to make. You can make the dough into loads of different shapes including eggs, bunnies, chicks and flowers. If you want to string them up, remember to add a hole before the dough dries.
Once you’ve painted on your design, give each decoration a coat of varnish to seal the dough and add some shine.
Egg box wreath table centrepiece
This egg box wreath is beautiful and would look perfect as a centrepiece for your Easter celebrations. The wreath is made using egg boxes cut into fours- you will need seven sets of four. Stick them together into a wreath shape and then fill each cup with flowers (faux work best), coloured eggs, and candy.

Chalk paint flowerpot decorations
For these spring flowerpots, use chalk paint on a terracotta pot. Once dry, you can draw on an Easter design. Fill the pot with spring bulbs and eggs for a pretty display.

This egg basket will take a bit of time to finish but will be worth it. Use a trug shape woven basket and start to wire in different blooms in lovely pastel shades. You can use real flowers but faux will mean the basket can be used each year. Fill will eggs or Easter chocolates.

Gold bunny succulent planters
Take a look in thrift stores for bunny or chicken planters that can be spray painted. Give them a good clean and a couple of coats of spray paint, gold or pastel shades work well. Then plant up with succulents or spring bulbs for a lovely display to go on a windowsill or mantel.

Quick pompom flowers
This is the perfect craft to fill a few hours over the holidays. Use scraps of wool to make some little pompoms, glue them onto sticks and display in vases. You could also add twine to hang on an Easter branch for another way to display.

Paint chip egg garland
I love how simple this garland is, but how good it looks. All you need are a bunch of paint chip samples- you can either get similar colours or go for a rainbow spread. Cut out the egg shapes and then arrange along a string.
Sock bunny
These cute and cheerful sock bunnies will make a fun activity if you have kids to entertain over Easter.
All you need is a sock, some rice or lentils for the filling, clear elastic bands, felt and googly eyes. Fill the sock with rice or lentils then use the elastic bands to split into a body and a head. Cut out some felt for the tummy and stick on your bunny’s face. Finally, divide the top of the sock to make the ears.
