Make sure your first birthday party is the best ever with these great car theme party games and activities. Once the decorations and food has been sorted, the next thing to think about is what games and crafts your little guests will want to do. Keep them occupied with a racing game, cone pinata or car theme ‘pin the tail’ game.
Head over here to take a look at how to host a car theme first birthday party.
Ready, Steady, Go!
Get the kids all lined up and ready to race their chosen car with this fun race track game. Easy to construct using either wood, chipboard or cardboard and a bit of paint, you will also have a cool game to play once the party is over.
The blue car and the red car had a race!
Recreate the famous Milky Way advert (if you’re old enough to remember it…) with these fun car dress up props. Made out of a cardboard box with wheels and paint added to give it a character, the party guests can have fun races as their favourite characters.
Make the Jump
This party game uses an existing race car track that you more than likely already have set up at home (I’m assuming your little one likes cars if you’re contemplating a car theme party!) All you need as extra is a board with large holes in to score the jumps. Pick a car and off they go.
Tyre race roll
All you need for this fun car theme party game is some inflatable tyres, helmets are fun but completely optional. Get your racers lined up with their tyre and then let them give them a big push on your whistle. The winner is the tyre that goes the furthest distance.
Pin the wheel on the car
This vehicle variant on the classic Pin the tail game uses a car and lots of wheels for each child to stick in the right place. You could always change the game depending on your child’s favourite vehicle.
A great variation on the traditional pinata, this cone design one fits really well with the car theme. Make sure everyone keeps out of the way when the bashing begins!
Wash and go!
What toddler doesn’t love a bit of water based play? Make it fit with the car party theme by setting up a car washing station. Use squeezy bottles or sprays, bowls of water and cloths and then have all the cars lined up for their party valet. Big cars and little cars can all be washed- they have fun and the cars will be all squeaky clean by the end of the party!
Race car pool splash
A fun variant on the racing car track game, this one is great for an outdoor party especially if you have a paddling pool (and good weather). Cut a couple of pool noodles in half to create your race tracks and prop them so the cars can splash into the pool when they’ve finished the race.
