Top tips to help you plan a fabulous first birthday party
When you’re planning a first birthday party there are so many things to consider it can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you’re looking after a little one full time or have just finished maternity leave and you’re all trying to adjust to a new routine.
There’s no need to worry though as we have all the best tips and first birthday party ideas that you can steal and pass off as completely your own! With a little bit of planning (just a couple of hours one evening) you can put together a great first birthday party that your little one will love.
Tip #1 Keep it simple. Your baby is just 1 after all and they don’t need a massive celebration that leaves you exhausted with the effort.
Tip #2 Say ‘Yes’ to offers of help. If your relatives or friends offer to help then let them. If you have a list of jobs that need doing, pick a few and get them on the case.
Tip #3 Think BIG. When it comes to impressive decor for small outlay/ effort you need to think big. So things like balloons, ribbon curtains and banners make a big impact for small time and money effort.
Tip #4 You’re not feeding the world! Small children really don’t eat that much and even if you decided to put food on for adults, chances are the party is not over a mealtime anyway. So cut the waste, hassle and budget and only provide a small buffet.
Tip #5 Pay someone else. If you have enough money and you do want a huge affair then pay for someone else to organise it completely!
